Rain Against The Windows And The Strong Coffee Warming Up My Fingers

HAH! Ignore the title, it's full of lies as to what this blogpost will entail. Has anyone looked outside their window? What the hell is up with this heat? And in exam time! The weather fairies are trying to kill me.. I had a German exam yesterday, and was put right next to the window! Fair dos, there were shut blinds.. but still. D: I am truly surprised I haven't melted yet. Like a true Britannian, (sp?) I doubt I can cope with anything above minus three degrees or something. God help me if I'd been learning Spanish instead! I'd go there for holidays and just request repeatedly to sit in the fridge or something. At least it's cooler in Germany. I hope it is anyway, no one burst my bubble and tell me otherwise, thank-you very much.
Anyway, should stop complaining, it's lovely weather and it could be worse. I wouldn't have the excuse to go out and buy cute yellow pumps.. (Are they pumps? Emily off of Cupcakes and Cashmere- picture two- says she's wearing Alexander McQueen pumps, and although they are clearly awesome, are they pumps or are they heels? 'Cause I always associate pumps with those classroom affairs you wore when you were 5 or something. I wear them all the time now, though. I voted a couple of weeks ago, like a proper grown-up and I still wear classroom pumps.. Perhaps it's an American thing that they sometimes call heels pumps? Huh, something to think about) I think I'm off shopping later, (I say, I think, this melty weather is making me weak so I might not bother) because it's my Newcastle Uni Roomate's (fingers crossed) 18th party, so I feel the need to purchase an appropriate outfit. Perhaps yellow pumps included. I'm still not totally confident about the whole 'walking in heels' thing, though definetly better than this time last year. I've got my prom (eee!) this week, and have super super highheels to wear, so must get practice in. Keep having visions of self tripping over on the dancefloor while bustin' ma moves.. not looking as cool and coiffed as I should be, ahem.
In short, many reasons to purchase yellow pumps that won't go with much else in my fairly outdate wintery wardrobe:
1. To out-yellow the sun. It's war, missy!
2. Cheer self up through exam time, thus, eminating joy and bringing peace to mankind.
3. They go with bare legs in pic two for warmer weathers, and with opaque tights, ala pic three for wintery occasions
4. To practise walking in heels so don't make a fools of self on important debutante like night.
5. Becuase they're shiny, and you can never own too many shiny things. Obv.
6. Walking in heels makes legs thinner. It's been scientifically proven. Somewhere.
Did you know 99% of facts are made up on the spot?
7. Thinner legs= more confidence. Plus, they're yellow. Which means heaps more confidence and cheeriness.
Well, that's me sold. I hope you guys are too. Hey, if there's a mysterious sales leap in the selling of yellow pumps, they shouldn't give all the credit to the melty melty sun, but to moi. Just so you know.
I should be off now, I'm blogging right next to my window, ohne blinds. And I need another refreshing shower, stat, before I go out glorously purchasing.

Experimenting With The New Camera And Some Explaining To Do

'Ello,
All photographs taken by me today, and not hijacked from somebody's Tumblr or anything. Ooh, better get all the formal stuff out of the way .. 'if you are going to use these photos .. be so kind and excellent as to credit them back to braceletlady. blogspot..' or I will get growly and cry. Cheers :)
ANYWAYYY .. got a new camera from Argos yest' £50.99 or something, but then I paid £15.00 for three years insurance because the last cheeky critter that broke my beloved camera was orange juice. So insurance might be lovely, because I've had this thing for about 48hrs and I have dropped it twice, because I am the clumsiest and most ridiculous person ever, as will be revealed in the upcoming paragraphs.
The other reason I was snapping pictures of things about the bedroom was that because I'm doing the whole 'moving to Newcastle University' thing, from little old Wakefield, I'm moving to a smaller room, so the brother can have this one. It's a glorifed box room, but a newly carpeted and wallpapered box room , so I don't mind much at all. All this stuff won't fit into the glorified box room, so I figured I'd take pictures of it and show you guys.
The first two snaps: one is the new header, but blogspot is grumpy and won't show the entire picture for the header, just the corner of it. The first two also explain the whole 'bracelet lady' 'bracelet lady again' thing (for blogspot and tumblr respectively). My gran makes bracelets and necklaces and I get a large lovely amount, and end up wearing about six million a day. Silly-ly, I also do the same for exams, and don't realise they're noisy until I clang my arm on the table. Then I have to take all six million off and put them on the table, then fall asleep while writing and spread all six million on the floor, then the poor exam invigilator lady person come to pick them up and they fall on the floor again and so it goes in a great big loop for two and a half hours and I end up forgetting why this writer uses this technique for this reason. In short, the bracelets are to blame for suck-ish marks on my exam; 'the bracelets made me do it!' 's not my fault. Eh heh heh.
The third snap: because I am the biggest show off ever :( Ahem. You can't see it, but it's a 'Dance to the Darkness' by Yours Truly. It's a poem-y thing, for this book 'Poetry by Moonlight'; a competition, didn't win but got published an' all and it came in the post a few days before my 18th. I might have mentioned it before actually.. but I'l say nothing else on the subject.
The fourth one: Mass collection of linguistic and german revison books. All to be read and consumed before the exam next week. It's all very exhausting..
The fifth: A great handful of the magazine collection. I also took a snap of all the Vogues, but it blogspot wouldn't let me put it on. I should realy stop buying them. Addiciton. Addiction. But I'm getting better..
Pics six and seven: A yellow bookshelf. A yellow one. Don't know how I feel about that, but I'm glad it's not coming into the new room. Wanted to submit it here, but I'm not sure that you can? I'm not sure now that it counts as a bookshelf, what with all the Friends videos and stuff, but ohwell. Did try to colour co-ordinate some, with the pink ones, but everything has sorta moved itself about. Cheeky.
The other snap is a close-up of the fashion illustration books. I always mean to use them to start a my own collection, but I'll never get round to it.
Number eight and number nine: A sea of sketch books;'ll show you the inside of them sometime soon, but not now, as it'll feel like a picture overload or something:) And a Spiderman walkie talkie thrown in for good measure.
The one after is a series of untouched art materials. It looks fabulously pretentious, and like I should be painting nonstop and be super creative, but the truth is: I'm a sucker for stationary and I spend all most of whatever cash I get on that, rather than clothes and stuff. Anyone else like that? Hum.
The final one, you can all breath a sigh of relief now and laugh at the naff bit of wall behind: C'est moi, looking like a bit of a twat, chilin' with the clarinet and a specially places pretty pillow, like you do. I'm sure normal people play the thing and not get snapped next to it, like it's my only friend, but hey ho, I do love it. Grade 2-ish-ish if people are wondering, haven't been taught since year 10 (year 13 now) so I'm teaching myself to play Adele's Chasing Pavements. Good stuff :)
I think that'll do for now, I should realy go wash the hair and do lots of work, but, you know, I'll not get 'round to any of it asusual.

Fairground Pictures & Copying A Cup Of Jo

Fairground shots... for no reason. I'd love to go to a fairground on a bank holiday, on all the pretty horses, though. The last bank holiday was lame, because all I think I did was hunch over the laptop again.. much like tonight and every other night actually, but ohwell.
Anyway, tonight I'm copying the whole Cup of Jo friday part of the blog thing where picks up pretty things and gives the reader links to them. Weeny bit infuriating because then you actually have to click on it.. ooh the effort :/ , aha.
Example of my style mode, the excellent Cup of Jo, where hopefully she won't sue me for stealing her excellent idea. Excellent.
My wednesday reccomendations:
A piano staircase and other genious ideas on The Fun Theory
Pretty kittens at The Thinking Tank
Revisit The O.C with full episodes on You Tube (Distracts from revising, this does)
Growing jewellery by some cool guy whose name I won't be able to type- curse my typically english keyboard with no accents or umlouts :(
Baloon girl broach I totally need but can't have because I'm saving up for a camera
Moroccan leather pouffes I intend to squander a good deal of student finance on, when I get round to applying for student finance, if I ever get of this computer start revising for my grades to use student finance. Student finance. (I feel, if I repeat it enough, I might actually get on with it, Student finance). Back to Moroccan leather pouffes, I quite like the cyclamen and turquoisecolours. And also because I'll get to invite people to come into my room and make everyone call them by Moroccan leather pouffes. ;)
Cardboard love, which I never get the time to check out, but you see it on someones tumblr every now and again. Realy sweet.
And finally, some Alice in Wonderland underwater photography, pretty awesome, because I totally don't get how it was done.
Well that was rewarding. I hope I don't get a realy growly email after I post this, going 'oh my, why have you stolen my idea, you cheeky little thing'. But on her blog she sounds so lovely, so you should all go see and read and admire.
Anyway, have to go vaccum the right side of my bedroom (I don't understand either) and start an english essay.. and contine with my world domination plans. Mu-haah-HA :D

P.S: I often read back through old posts and realise that realy easy spellings are spelled realy wrongly D: As a Potential Student of Linguistics, English Language A Level learner, More Or Less Daily Blogger, and Almost Normal Human Being, allow me to apologise.
Sorry. I am realy careless, like, all the time D:

May Bank Holiday and Mickey Mouse Jumpers

If you remember, loyal reader, that I posted a while back about wanting a Mickey Mouse Jumper.. well I've been on the look out ever since, and these pretty snaps happen to be the results. Saw one in ASDA (*blush*, I do shop there on boring Sunday afternoons) but I didn't get it, because at the time I thought it'd be a childish thing to wear.
On the contrary, a Mickey Mouse hoodie is guilty pleasure Disney for us oldies. If you flick through the Tumblr's out there, you'll spot a sneaky princess film screencap; evidence that you can be 19 or 91 and perhaps you'll still have a soft spot for a cartoon and a happy ending.
Okay, I'll be off 'cuz I'm sounding rather cheesy and smushy; and in true teenage fashion, managed to get vomit on my hair, and I have to go wash it out now, blarrrgh :/ . Plus, I have shed loads of work to do; all I've done this May bank holiday is burn the top layer of lasagna and dance about on the internet, thus doing nothing of severe importance .. ey dear.
But now though, at least I have the inspiration to go get an oversized Mickey Mouse hoodie. One cutesy enough to soften the teen stereotype, and large enough to just wear with opaque tights and flats; perhaps ending up looking like a too tall childlike -hooker. Harrruumph. I shall have a think about it, anyway.
