Field Specific Imagery

I love a good run. One where you don't care about the prying eyes or how incredibly attractive you are(n't) when those limbs carelessly fling themselves about uncontrolably. Although nowadays, I can't seem to find neither the time nor the place to do such things. Nor even the correct attire for the task in hand. Forgive me for thinking, dear reader, for naively (sp?) thinking that a bright pair of Converse runners and a modest sweatband were just about fine for having a good run about. Apparently, that is not how the fashion forward do it. And quite rightly so, most likely not at all comfortable, and of coure not appropriate in the slightest, but indulgently glamourous and super-cool just the same.

And they've got them running through fields.! Where do they find these places? I'm pretty positive there's nothing like this near me. (Jealous much. The adverts boast of the finest accessories, and what do I want out of the image? The bloody field they run through-ridiculous!)
I actually want the brown hoodie thing from picture six, she looks warm and awesome :)and I realy fancy having a prance about the grassy nowles (sp?) on stilts from picture 5.
All images from awake- smile.

I Want Candy

Honestly didn't think I'd get this far into the blog without posting a little something about chocolate, sweeties and the like. However, I don't eat alot of it- (hey, don't look at me like that!) I think, after you read 'Charlie and The Chocolate Factory' at about 10, one strides hopefully into the nearest newsagents and just comes out feeling uninspired at Cadburys, Nestle and Haribo's meagre offerrings. But I have found that there are a few selective pieces that I will make an exception for and will willingly eat in great amounts. (Err. fattyyy :L )

1. Rainbow Drops. These are by far the prettiest in this little collection, any sort of confectionary even slightly coloured will practically magnitise any delighted little (or old) child. Sod the E numbers! Who cares if it makes you.. (that's a thought, what do E thingies actually do?)Eye happiness is priceless! :)

The long bags cost about 20p and are so sweet to carry around in your pocket. To my knowledge, they haven't been advertised that much, but somehow they're always around. And the world is a better place for it, I think.

2. Jammy Dodgers. My favourite non-chocolat-ey biscuit I think. But I don't like dipping them in tea & sometimes skim round the edges to get to the jam quicker..but it's worth it anyway.. om nom nom. Also, they're so pretty, necklaces and other jewelerry have replicaed their lovliness. The picture I googled, I got it from Lovelydeer at busy mitts, but there are other versions somewhere too. If you live in Leeds (I live near it) apparently in the Corn Exchange there's a shop in there or something. Plus, on the What Katie Wore blogsite awhile ago, Katie was wearing a Jammie Dodger broach and the site was mentioned where she got it from. I 'favourited' it (get me 'n' my I.T skillzzz) thinking I'd want to come back for some other reason. I'm dissapointed that they don't do a Jammie necklace, but for now I could stick with the broach idea. Either that, or stick some string round the real thing and nibble away discretley..

3. Peanut Butter M&M's. I heart peanut & chocolate together. Or any sort of nut and chocolate concoction realy. Yet another bright coloured 'e-numbered' blah blah, but so more-ish, non? I could go into this with a somewhat psycological feel and think that any nutbased food is a 'father issue' cause I remember him eating bags of salted peanuts as a child (My personal favourite is the cashew, if anyone is taking notes). He's still around like and very much a presence in ones life, but.. youknow. Or I just like nuts and chocolate like the next person. Either ways is fine for me.

There's also a reference in The Wedding Planner (2001) where Matthew McConaughey's character only eats the brown M&M's cause apprently there's less colouring in them, (see Quote of The Post later)and I always secretly wondered if that was true..don't think it is though. But why one would colour in an already brown chocolate sweet ..brown just amuses me.

4. Galaxy Chocolate Cookie. I think these are fairly new, and I've had quite a few of these bars already. Finally there's a decent chocolate bar of choice in the newsagent's to zoom towards when it's Friday sweet day. (It's a family thing. Confectionary has been limited to Fridays, but this never realy works.)

I love cookies. I love chocolate. The two have married together in confidence. Emmy's tastebud verdict? Omnom nommnomm:) (I also love galaxy, but a trio would never realy work in an actuall marriage, would it?)

5. Chocolate desert pots. This is moderatley unusual because I never usually go for yoghurt. Especially the white stuff because sometimes you just see a thin layer of water over the top & you just think.. nah. I don't think it's called water and it's probably supposed to be there, something to do with the way it's made or something? Anyway, I'm not especially fond of it, so this was a personal suprise when one day mom brought home a belgian chocolate desert, appropriatley christened 'Guilty'. I had about three. Yes, in almost one go. Because in our house, even though there is a number lock on that kitchen door yummy things unquestionably seem to dissapear swiftly into the younger mouths of the tandoc family. So I barely get a look in, Humph. But 'Guilty' is of purple (obv) pretty, petit packaging, and unfortunatley I haven't seen it in forever. It doesn't appear to want to be googled either, which is a pity, but it has changed my views on chocolate yoghurts for the better. But also possibly for the negative, as I was a thinner, oblivious person before belgian desserts walked into my life.

5. The last picture is one that I took last in our last summer holiday, of the siblings pouring over a sweet stall- I think in a seaside area somewhere. Sweets are always happy things to look at, even if they are deliciously evil things to be eating. But ohwell, all things in moderation, as they say.

6. Other confectionary selections:

The inside of Maltesers,

White Bueno,

the shape of a Tolberone,

the white bits on Hairbo sweets,
The Cookie Dough dessert at Pizza Hut,

and Oreo cookies. Especially those you can dip into milk and it will make the milk turn pink. (Had those in a trip to America once. One of the only things I remember.) Also, while I'm at it any cereal that turns the milk chocolate.

And not forgetting: Nutella spread.

7. Okay, this isn't on topic in the slightest, but I searched 'Galaxy' in the we heart it search bar and came up with this cat. How awesome? And a fabulous way to end the post.

Pictures from: We heart it and digital literacies.

Quote of the Post: Steve: Why you only eating the brown ones?

Mary: Because someone once said they have less artificial colouring because chocolate's already brown. And it kind of stayed with me.

Some Red N Blue Lovin'

Did I ever tell you that I don't have a permanent favourite colour? For some strange reason, it changes every other day; I guess I go through phases. Does that make me a fickle person? Oh.

Anyway, the other day it was yellow and today it's red and blue. Taking current inspiration from the above images:
Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz: Aren't these shoes awesome? I have a pair of pink, glittery high heeled shoes that I got from the charity shop for about £3 last year. I think they're proper dancing shoes and a size too big, but they so remind me of dorothy's. I can't realy walk in heels, so I just potter about the house in them:) I might get some flat versions of Dorothy's. I hear they do some great ones in Topshop.. The other think I'm loving about this image is that the shoes seem to go realy well together with blue cotton socks, how cute it that? Haven't realy worn cotton socks with the ankles pulled down since Primary School, so it's a surprise to see them with a new 'cool factor', but at the same time, still in keeping with it's childish innocence.. ahh sweeet.
The Satorilist Image: Okay, the shoes are more coral than anything, but still, bright red laced shoes and a bright blue dress is lovely. I want to see an image of her on the blue bike aswell, that must be an awesome sight altogether.. Who colour co-ordinates their bicycles with their outfits? Fashion at it's best, I think. :)
Sleeping Beauty: I found this picture by accident, a Disney reference didn't exactly spring to mind when searching for high end red and blue dress'. But you can get your inspiration from anywhere, can't you? I like that. I guess most of the fashion graduates these days are referring to childhood images for their new collections. Expect to see Pocohontas esque yellow dress' and Mulan inspired armour wear. Nice:).
I also like this image because it sort of reminds me of old, simpler Disney movies before D.V.D and high definition colour came out for the new gerneration. Back in my day.. (God, I feel so old!).. the colours weren't fabulous, but the less than perfect look gives it a more fairytale feel doesn't it? Might dust off the V.H.S tapes and have a nostalgic wild night in. Rock and Rolll.!
Kirsten Dunst in Harpers Bazzar: Kirsten is such a sweet actress, but I prefer her with a younger look. Harpers were trying to give her a more grown up image: classic shapes, fine lines and the like. She looks lovely, as always, but I miss Eternal Sunshine, Elizabethtown and early Spiderman Kirsten. Its a shame people have to grow up, eh?
Anywho, the image reminded me of the dress below it, I knew I'd seen that oufit before..
Blair Waldorf, Gossip Girl: I love this scene where Serena & Blair where epic dress' and take lots of photos in N.Y.C. Makes me wanna grab a mate of mine, a yellow cab and splash about abit in the fountain. Anyone of you loyal readers up for it? Be a bit difficult for find a yellow cab in little old Agbrigg though..maybe a Wakefield Arriva bus? Or not.. But the look is so lovely, I might buy myself a skinny belt and a blue dress. Or a red on maybe? Ahh choices choices.. I'm leaving the youtube video so you guys can pick for me:)

C'est Moi Avec Red Sunnies: This is an old pic, from last years results day. I was quite fond of my glasses at the time (Topshop, £10) so I fancied taking a snap. I'm not going to put up any more pics of me though, I just look like a loon.
Anywho, that was my take on the red and blue look, hope you lovely people got some inspiration from it and I'll see you soon!

Smile Like You Mean It.

Some people have realy nice smiles. Some are the lovely teeth wide grin sorta things and some aren't teeth-y but you can totally feel all the emotion and happiness that went into it. (I got one of those the other day, it totally cheered me up:)) .I can't smile like that, I have one of those close lips smiles which I got from my Mom or something. It's not the best thing in the world. If I ever do smile, I'm always paranoid it looks realy fake or something, 'cause that's supposed to be one of those realy attractive things about a person isn't it, their smile? Eyy dear.

Anyway, I collected some pictures of my favourite smiles (that's nice isn't it, 'collecting smiles') & I hope it makes you smile as well as I do. I think if we all smiled more, the world would be a better place to live in.

Blane/ Andrew Mcarthy- Pretty in Pink: Okay, that picture does not do justice to his actual smile, but there seems to be absoloutley nothing out there on the net! Absoloutley horrendous, I might just complain.. however, I have scoured youtube for a clip that which might work..

It's just the trailer, and you have to wait till it's 0.26 secs or something, before you get a decent shot, but you get the gist. It's rare to find a boy with a dazzling smile (apart from a few exceptions) but this guy is actually awesome. :)
Cassie- Skins: Certain loyal readers will have noticed, that this isn't her first mention in the blog- (she also wears super cool sunglassses.) But anyway, she has one of those wide mouthed smiles, that you don't realy see nowadays. Also, she says 'wow' and 'lovely' alot, which I seemed to have picked up, (especially when tipsy, as I found out the other day!) I reccomend Skins should be watched, especially series 1, episode 2, 'cause it's her character specific episode (or something to that effect).
Alison Sudol- A Fine Frenzy: Only just discovered this, I was watching a youtube video the other day (I'll post it another time, I think the one is enough for now) and realised that she has a lovely smile; again, that picture is from the Hello magazine site and doesn't do it justice, but woah I wish I could pull that off! It has sort of a 'delighted child in a sweet shop' quality which is permanent, and totally fits with her personality.
Now I've realised that there is only so much one can write about a person's smile without sounding to stalker-ish or weirdly perverted. So on that note, I'll leave and see you tomorrow.
Just remember though: Smile and contribute happiness into the world- you don't know what you might be starting..
Pictures from we heart it and google.

Knit One Wear One..

I love knitwear¬!

Not knitwear as in Harry Potter's embarrassing christmas jumper knitwear, but knitwear as in, that fairly snug, loose, sexy stuff that's ripped and stretched and as scruffy as hell; the knitwear I realy wanna wear ! But wouldn't realy be able to wear unless I suddenly became super skinny and totally okay ..(how many times did I just type 'knitwear' into that last paragraph?) ..with being all fitted.. all over. (If that made any sense at all to you good people).

I think my moderate fondness(though some might say definite obsession) started last year when I had to look at Clare Tough for textiles. She's cool isn't she? I was also a big fan of Rodarte at the time, still am. I took the Rodarte tights image as sample inspiration and reproduced my take on it in different ways. Scruffy felting, messy weaving and such things.

I love that knitwear has become more modern and sexy because of it's new shape and lighter volume(is that the right word?) It's also totally adaptable to your body, but as I typed earlier, it probably only looks good on the models, like everything does, which is such a shame *sadface*.

But now more fresh new designers are working with it, check out this interview with Matt Bovan from the Sea Of Shoes site. Currently scouring the web for more atm, but I'm confident one will turn up soon. In the mean time, I've started knitting, a friend of mine has been teaching me. He's practically pro at it, does scarves and everything. And totally despairs at me when my scruffy, careless ways take over and there a socking great holes in the piece that I'm working on, then he wants me to unravel it, so I can do a neater, tidier version the next time, but I never do, cause it takes sodding *ages* to do it all. Next time I shall tell him that Rodarte, Matt and Clare all do it fairly misshapen and everybody else is following suit. Finally, being scruffy and ridiciulous actually pays off!

And now the whole knitwear in the catwalk thing has filtered down into Topshop, to make it more accessible for us students, regular people and the like. Might get my claws into an oversized jumper like Zooey Deschanel does into the last pic. Like knitwear, I also love Zooey Deschanel. So Zooey Deschanel and knitwear jumpers and coke cans all in one black and white pic totally rock my socks :)

Pics from We heart it, Sea of Shoes, The Telegraph and Topshop. Also check out more of Clare Tough's work.

Ich bin achtzehn jahre alt..Woaw.

Hey, much apologies about the birthday references these past few days, it's just been freaking me out a little.. all the changes.. you know? But anyway, yeah, I'm an official 'adult' now. It only feels truly real because ..well blogger changed it on my profile. It now states that I am 18 and there is a cute little cake image in the corner, signifying my birthday. Aw.

But I'm guessing you're wondering about what happened today..? If not, I'll tell you anyway just so I can keep a record and bore you lovely people to death at the same time.. convenient, huh?

It was a nice morning, had chocolate cereal (cuz, let's face it, I'm a strange kind of grown up) And got some nice texts.. cheered me up :). Had German and Textiles and English and Media, but nobody remembered in those lessons. Mainly because I didn't want them too.. tbh, that might've been a little awkward or something. Anyway, they were great lessons. :) Break was great, got lots of hugs, which is always good. Lunch was fun, because some uber lovely friends went to ASDA and got cakes and buns and stuff:) Om nom nom. I was very touched. Promised myself I wouldn't get emotional. Almost did.. (but that's between you and me, ey?) Everyone played twister, pics of which are up and blurry, 'cause my camera iz lamee. I meant to play, but to be honest, my dress was a little short.. (don't look at me like that, I was wearing leggings!) But I wish that I had played now, cause it looks like fun, doesn't it? Had a good chat with the girls on the bus home, and then mom, dad brothers, sister, Gran & Mark went to a Chinese Resteraunt. It was fun, Chinese food is rather lovely, methinks. Mom iced a lovely cake, got an exciting amount of money, and went home to watch Friends. Ahah. :D Now, I'm ever so slightly exhausted, and nervously looking at the laptop clock to see how many hours and minutes I have left of 'My Birthday' 8-) Sad times. Ooh, also took a few dorky pictues of myself in the resteraunt loos. (Because it had a full length mirror and had nice lighting). Pahhahaa. I don't get wiser, I just get. Older. Hm.

Anyway, this is the last of the birthday references for another year honest honest. Future posts will deal with more contemporary issues for example, how the world is getting on, society and sociology and such similiar things. Though I'd just like to say Happy Birthday to Prince Harry (for tomorrow) who is 25 tomorrow! I should email him and tell him we're almost birthday buddies.. or soulmates.. or something. Ahm.

All Growed Up.

Ahh ! My last post as a 17 year old! Tomorrow (or in about half an hour to be painfully exact) I shall be an Adult. I've not yet decided wheather that's a good thing or not. Meh.

Bad Things:

No Disney movies.. (wasn't much interested in them anyways..)

No more girly things like ballet and the colour pink.

More tired phrases will be used, like 'You're too old for ___' 'You're not a child anymore', 'You'd better start using wrinkle cream..' etc. (Okay, I haven't heard any of these used yet, but it's something to look out for. Wooh.

More Politics and the news and similiar things. And not Mock The Week style Politics either. If I told you I had a *tiny* crush on David Cameron, would you judge me? He seems like a nice bloke, is all. And if Hugh Grant was the Prime Minister, I'd totally vote :)

The Option To Smoke. I daren't take this up, for fear I might get hooked or something. I already don't eat any vegetables and such things, so If I take this up, my body will fail on purpose just to spite me. But in the pic, it looks so pretty, doesn't it?

Reading the classics. Okay, this isn't so bad, being a big fan of Pride and Prej and telly period dramas myself, but still, sometimes they're so difficult to understand, non?

The option to drink. Same as smoking tbh, as my liver will be in serious trouble. Will these things you're never too sure how hard you'll fall; how much self control you have. Think I'm slipping already tbh, had some Strongbow the other day (whatta rebel ;) ) and found it quite nice/. Didn't get drunk or anything.

This whole 'loosing your youth and good looks' idea. I'm running out of the former, and have very little on the latter, so If it's meant to be at it's peak at this point, then.. oh. Also the 'best time of your life' point is about this ripe young age, and that's dissapearing too. I've already taken up knitting. (More on this later)

But I'll go get some sleep now. It's currently 01:02 in the morning, and so I'm ignoring the fact that this is all gonna come true right now. Oh, I never 'typed', did I?:

The Good Things About Turning 18?

All of the above. Well most of it. Look how lovely it is. Why was I even complaining in the first place? It's gonna be quite an adventure , huh? Bring it on.

Counting Sheep...

I'm so so sorry for not posting properly these last few days, but have been so unbelievebly shattered this week it's insane. Had like, 1hr 30 mins sleep last night, because I had to get up early for St Mary's Uni Open Day. (Verdict?: Not bad.. I quite liked it.). But had the odd 2hr nap on the journey there, which isn't too bad. Totally forgot all the questions I was gonna ask the tutours. Almost started *snoring on the desk right there and then. That would have made a great first impression, huh?

^^ Anyway, feel like this right now .

<<>(It's like my second favourite drink ever after tea)

But saw a Cherry version in one of the service stations and was like WTF? I totally fancy trying one. But a friend of mine is very obsessed with the Orange version (not as 'om nom nom' as the Berry, in my opinion) and she says it ruins your skin etc and so isn't the healthiest drink around.. so maybe next ..month or something I'll try it and post the verdict up on here.

Do you think someone will get me one of these for my Birthday? (am Montag)Very fairytale like. Aw. <<

Anyway, I'm gonna be doing this for a while >>

Damn My Lovely Eyesight!

Not like I'm not greatful or anything, but there are times when you wonder if you could look as cool as the above people.. or maybe not. 8-)
Apologies for the short post, I'm off to London in what..three hours? Arrgh! (In a sort of scream-y excited-dreading it sort of way)
1. Cassie from Skins. Okay, these are sunglasses, but they're still cool..
2. Zooey Deschanel. Love the whole colour co-ordination thing, I seem to be doing that alot nowadays.. The beret also rocks my socks (Y)
3. Two lovely people from a Teen Vogue shoot entitled 'My Funny Valentine'. Appropriate title. Epic shaped sunglasses.
4. Alexa Chung, who has the power to make even the geekiest of glasses look the very essence of amazing. (I don't understand that last phrase either. I'll change it in a bit)
(Pictures from we heart it)
Might go get some tomorrow, & I'll see if they make me luck (more) intelligent.. If it goes well, I'll let you know the results.

It's Not A Tea Cosy.. Honest.

Well, it looks like one on me, anyway. What am I 'typing' about you ask? Well, it's September, so it's thought to be an autumn- wintery sort of month, isn't it? Apparently not the case this year. For the past two days it's been lovely and summery out. Ridiculously typical. During the actual summer it rains and rains but as soon as we slip back into education again, the sun is back and happy. I'm dissapointed, see, I'm waiting for the snow to come so I can wear pretty little gloves, fluffy earmuffs and such similiar things. My absoloute favourite, though, is The Beanie. (So important it is to me, I felt the need to capitalize). You know the one, the hat that looks like it was meant to be warming a kettle pot-thing rather than being recognized as one of the 'coolest' accessory items in ones winter wardrobe. So it's lovely to see these oh-so fancy people pulling it off like a charm. (Apologies, these pics were meant to be at the bottom of the text.. but.. screw it).
1. C'est moi. I told you I couldn't pull it off. Taken last December when me and my friend went to go see Twilight. Good times. I think I look quite young in that pic. Simpler, better times. :) *Nostalgia*
2. Kirsten Dunst with Orlando Bloom, I'm assuming from the film Elizabethtown. I haven't seen the whole thing through, but judging by the screencaps, it looks pretty cool. Picture from una bella vita.
3. Ashley & Mary-kate Olsen (L-R). At least I *think* that's correct. Looking effortlessly cool, as usual. I didn't know you could wear big sunnies with a winter hat. That's genious right? And a lovely idea. Might try it tomorrow..
4. Rachel Bilson. Fellow beanie lover, we barely see this girl with out one on her head, no matter the event or the weather. I like. 3 & 4 photo's from fashion indie.
Anyway, this post has been fun; I encourage more people out there to wear beanies. Hats in general should be promoted everywhere, infact. Spread the love.
